Cambridge students played 'dead' today to bring the reality of war closer to potential army recruits.
On March 6, 2003, at 6 pm CamSAW activists (Cambridge Students Against the War) made the anti-war presence known to army recruiters and their potential recruits. To counterbalance army posters displaying a soldier's life as an interesting and fun holiday, three students covered in 'blood' and bandages demonstrated to potential recruits that their duties as soldiers more realistically would include killing innocent people. The activists held up a banner reminding passerbys that 'war is terror' and handed out leaflets outlining the realities of war. Students were also promoting the upcoming anti-war demonstration in Cambridge on Saturday.
