"This ain't a party, it's a movement."
Anti-war gig at the Rescue Rooms, Nottingham (www.rescuerooms.com) on the 19th March. tickets £3

i'm helping to organise an anti-war gig at the Rescue Rooms (wicked brand new live music venue - www.rescuerooms.com) on the Wednesday 19th March (which just happens to be my 21st birthday) and i thought i should take the opportunity to invite you all along.

the gig is also the launch party for The Shoestring Project which i've just helped set up with music / activist types that i know. basically we're using live music / art / poetry / nightclub nights etc to raise money for activism and community projects. the whole thing is going really well already (two gigs and over £600 already raised), but all eyes are on the 19th.

the night is called "This ain't a party, it's a movement!". Antihero are the headline act (www.antihero.org.uk) with support from uni bands. we've also got a capoeira performance (brazilian martial art that looks a bit like breakdancing) from Papa Leguas pictured below and fire juggling as well.

from 7 til 9 we've got acoustic sessions from a number of nottingham acts before the night gets more serious. if anyone is interested in performing poetry or music in the first two hours then get in touch. we'll even let you in for free!

tickets are £3 for all non-performers and are available from the Rescue Rooms (www.rescuerooms.com / 0115 958 8484) or by emailing theshoestringproject@gr
affiti.net. if you're not from nottingham and would like somewhere to stay then there are plenty of people who would be willing to put you up.

for more details about the project as a whole check out this other thread

cheers
