Demo report

04.03.2003 01:09

Quick demo report: about 30 people started of on Oxford Circus and headed down to Whitehall, picked up about 10 people on the way who obviously had nothing better to do, disrupted traffic, blocked road in Parliament Square and blocked in a couple of MP's cars for a bit

Headed off down Westminster Bridge when cop presence increased to an unfavourably large size, blocked the bridge for a bit, finally scuffles with the cops who'd had enough and 2 arrests for public order offences (sec's 3 + 5) which were complete bollocks but it's only to be expected, eh?

People still waiting outside Charing X cop shop.

they're out...

it's 03:30 and they have been released

they were held for nearly 5 hours and have been released on bail...

they will appear in court later in the week

thanks to everyone who waited outside (the police wouldn't let them into the station - only 2 at a time - just like the ark?!)

CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE NOW!

FANTASTIC RESISTANCE / SOLIDARITY

04.03.2003 10:38

As the war machine steeps up it's action in Iraq (.....and we know you have) paving the way for their genocide, actions like yesterday evening are essential NOW, in towns and cities across the country, resist to stop this bloody war.
If I knew when the two activists were going to be in court and I can get there, I think would be great to show solidarity inside or outside court..........?
