Threat of war over as Saddam starts to destroy all banned weapons

Harlequin | 03.03.2003 10:17

Saddam Hussein recently agreed with the USA to destroy all of its banned weapons and to co-operate fully with UN weapons inspectors as the threat of war came closer. The first ten banned missiles have already been destroyed and more will be destroyed soon along with other stocks of banned weapons.

Iraq has finally caved in to months of pressure by the USA and Britain thus ending the threat of war once and for all. This breakthrough has been welcomed by all sides as a sign that Iraq is serious to destroy all remaining weapons of mass destruction as stated in resolution 1441. Troops will remain in tghe Gulf area though to ensure that the destruction of banned weapons continues until all of them are gone.
