e$$o shut down in the uk today!

The action was made to highlight esso's contribution to global warming and global war, and was excellent in that it relied on autonomous teams. We switched off and then dismantled the emergency fire switches to cut off petrol, removed the parts and posted them to e$$o's ceo. Then, d-locked the pumps together, dropped off publicity and moved on!
We talked to staff to calm any fears and to try to highlight the connections between e$$o's corporate lobbying and T.W.A.T.
Of the staff, many leaped to the defence of their masters, one attempting to block us physically. I told him that I hoped he breaks free one day...
Some female staff seemed to enjoy what was going on though, and I hope the esso workers made some use of their day off. But it is a pity the action wasn't timed to coincide with a firefighters strike, as some of the stations were functional again within a few hours, with the help of the fire service.
Station users were generally non-supportive, but equally non-aggressive.
Police response seemed minimal from our pov, perhaps relying on staff and the fire service to deal with it, but several arrests have been made at those garages where people are locking on.
E$$o are lying, claiming only 50 garages have been affected!
Good action, moving away from hierarchical structure towards local affinity groups, but could have been better timed for maximum effect.
