PEACE CAMP
We are putting up tents on the grass in the peace gardens near Albert Sq and behind town hall at the weekend of
the Manchester demonstration ie Sat 8 th March. We see this as an extension of the vigils and the demonstrations ie a chance to inform people and for us to meet and talk freely about ideas of what to do , new thoughts, experiences etc ...
It is also the start of the peace movement having a permanent presence in the city.....Whether you would like to drop in for half an hour or sleep
over or help in other ways ie tents, or food or sleepng bags etc
do feel free to be involved.
People interested are having an informal meeting (everyone welcome) in
the Square Albert pub in Albert Square next Thurs 27th Feb at 7.30
or email ros_arnold@hotmail.com or roserat as above, or phone 881 0450 or turn up on the day
we are putting tents up early on the Sat 8th morning and we could do with
help.

Peace Camps in every city...

Magpie that I am, I've passed this notion on to Sheffield Against the War. We have a so-called 'Peace Garden' right next to the Town Hall, on the main shopping drag. Ideal location!
And WHY NOT every city & town in Britain, & the whole world come to that!
Going to your local Peace Camp is much easier than travelling to the Capital for a Big Demo.
There are enough of us to volunteer a few hours of our time each day/week to maintain a permanent presence.
It's going to take something on this sort of scale to have a real impact in these coming weeks. With an undeniable manifestation of People Power, we CAN make Blair listen to our demands for peace. If this isn't a revolutionary situation, I don't know what is!
What did YOU do in the war, daddy/mummy? We stopped it!!!
