BLUE RIBBONS FOR PEACE

This is a simple idea to further the push for peace. There needs to be a universal symbol in support of the United Nations that can be expressed by anyone, anywhere. It should be positive, in support of the UN, rather than negative, allowing participation by a broader range of people. It should also be non-verbal for global appeal.

The idea is to use blue ribbons - UN blue - tied to car antennas, around trees, on lapels, etc. These can be made from any medium-blue fabric you have available, cut into strips of any length.

The goal is to create a sea of blue ribbons worldwide that can't be ignored and that will counter the suspicious opinion poll numbers in support of the war. If Bush and Tony Blair can look out their windows and see thousands of ribbons on trees and car antennas, they may realize this is a very unpopular war.
