Antarctica Says No to War

The folks here did manage to rally behind the cause and there was a small protest on Sunday (Saturday in the States). About 50-55 people gathered on the sea ice to protest the possible war in Iraq. It was a grey and particularly cold day so the demonstration was brief, but heartfelt. The entire thing lasted about 20 minutes. We had banners and signs expressing our concerns about the war and we took several photos, shouted out "Antarctica says no to war!" and then went back to the business of the day (several people were on a break from work). It was the third time this season that there were anti-war protests.

This to me was one of the two most inspiring/empowering actions of the entire day. (the other was the village in Oz with a population of 2600, of which 2500 came out to protest).
The fact that the majority of the Antarctica population came out to protest too shows just how far reaching the objection the this war is.
Well done you guys ;-)
