Demonstrate this monday at the egyptian embassy for the release of anti war activitsts

At least 15 Egyptian anti war activists and organisers against the war on Iraq have been arrested in Cairo. Ten remain in detention without charge. Most have been tortured with electro-shock. Several of those tortured are school students.
14 peace and human rights groups in Egypt have asked us to do what we can to get them released.

>The Stop the War Coalition has called a protest at the Egyptian Embassy at 26 South Street,London W1 on Monday 24 th February from 6 to 7pm. Only international pressure will secure thier release and prevent the arrest of further demonstrators - please phone the embassy to protest if you cannot attend the demonstration - their phone number is 0207-409-2236

Could not make it to London
Really upset with this so I took some deep breaths and picked up the phone. Dialled the Egyptian Embassy and spoke to a nice man called Mahar Finwarr who said he did not know anything about it. He did say that torture was not nice tho and he also said that he would not like to be tortured. when I pressed him for information he said that everyone had gone home and that he was not after all a “press officer” he worked in finance but he did say that a Zaki Eazhi would phone me back

To the people outside
