OUSU Diversity Week
March 2002 saw the first annual OUSU Diversity Week.
Each year OUSU campaigns on a variety of issues. Much of that work is undertaken by the equal opportunity campaigns which include the Anti-Racism, Disabilities Action and Queer Rights groups, the International Students Committee and the Women's Campaign. Diversity Week is the major equal opportunities event of the year and brings together the work of the all these bodies and is co-ordinated by the Vice-President (Welfare and Equal Opportunities) and the Vice-President (Women).
The week also sees us extending our links with the local community. Only by our larger community working together to tackle issues like racism and discrimination on the basis of sexuality, disability or gender, and by promoting efforts toward equal opportunity for all regardless of background, can Oxford continue to claim to be a diverse and progressive city.
Diversity Week will be taking place in fifth week - the timetable is below although THIS PAGE IS UPDATED DAILY AND MORE EVENTS WILL APPEAR AS THEY ARE CONFIRMED; for more information or to get involved please email diversity@ousu.org
DIVERSITY WEEK: CIVIL RIGHTS PROTEST
Thursday, 2:30pm - Civil Rites: A Protest for Equal Partnership Eights.
