kriptick's pics of London anti-war march

Indy site overloaded big time. This is fourth upload attempt.
The guy with a 'tache on the yellow flags is the imprisoned Kurdish leader Ocalan NOT Sadam.
I liked the way people spontaneously dumped banana skins right outside Downing St. (article 1)

Glad someone posted this pic

I am glad someone posted this picture, as the demonstrators holding the Ocalan flags were not entirely understood by the crowd, as the Kurdish situation has received very poor news coverage in the mainstream press. A lot of people were wondering what Ocalan and his party, KADEK, had to do with this anti-war demo, and the answer is A LOT. The Kurds of Turkey, many taking refuge in the north of Iraq, and going to get caught between three wars. One against the Turks, who are going to take the opportunity to intensify their assault on the Kurds (in fact, the internal war against the Kurdish rebels in Turkey has already intensified), one against Saddam who has never shown much fondness for the Kurds, and another against the American-backed Kurdish factions of Iraq.

I was interested to see them too

I was interested to see them too as I'd heard the Kurds have been hammered hard by Sadam as well as Turkey like you say so thought that overall they might prefer to see Sadam hammered in return.

btw I also have a short video clip of the same scene - looks nice with all the flags fluttering in unison and some strange pipe music being played. Let me know if you want me to upload it.
