BBC attempts to undermine 2-million strong peace protest

The BBC attempted to undermine the 2 million strong march in London today.

ITV began by saying there were 2 million protestors but official police figures claimed 750,000 but interestingly the BBC's, which has imposed a ban on editorial staff and well-known staff members, main teletext headline claimed there were only 750,000 protestors and it would not change Blair's mind.

The corporate media channels failed to be consistent in their reporting. None of the corporate media were consistent in their attempted to engage in simple investigative journalism such as counting the number of coaches, their original departure areas or why masses of people were still in Waterlook when a large contingent had reached Hyde Park. This alone challenged the figures put forward by the BBC. The Sun failed even to mention the march. The Mirror in a remarkable move sponsored the event and provided placards for the 2 million strong protestors. The move was in support of the democratic right to protest and ensure a peaceful outcome to the declaration of war made by Blair who was elected by only one in four people in this country. The Guardian finally admitted that the majority in this country had rejected the war in Iraq. The Independent provided a dossier of public opinion. The Express claimed that the US and UK had been undermined. Reuters earlier on in the day claimed 2 million people were on the streets.

Today's march was democracy in action and the media could not dismiss the strength of feeling on the streets.
