Ref Changes in GP practices
The GP practice has served people well for the last 50 years. I am concerned with GP practices and some of the developments or goals that are been introduced. What exactly are the benefits of the walk in Clinic, NHS Direct and nurse lead clinics? Now we have the same day medical appointment system. All very good in theory but what about the practice.
The government adviser on science Prof. Heinz Woolfe revealed that a major survey undertaking showed politicians as the least trusted of people and GP s as the most closely applied to friends and family. One imagines jealousy be the management criteria for these new developments.Sabotage something that gives good service.
What we are been given is a permanent emergency service. It involves both a de-skilling and speedup of services.A kind of fast food delivery service for health. I would have thought training and recruitment of some more GPs would have been the answer.
