His main tormentor, the traditionally pro-Labor Daily Mirror, which first dubbed him Bush's poodle and which ran a front page splash last week showing Blair's hand dripping with blood, is losing 120,000 readers. Circulation, which in the Mirror's glory days was more than 4 million, is now just a hair above 2 million. Its owners, the Trinity Mirror Group (which also owns 240 profitable local papers) has received a $2 billion buyout offer from a venture capital group.
