Australian Prime Minister John Howard arrived in the UK today, enroute to Indonesia.
Howard will meet tomorrow with Tony Blair to further discuss "coalition" war plans for Iraq. Like Britain, the Australian government is a strong supporter of military action against Iraq, despite overwhelming public opposition.
Todaym Mr Howard held talks on the latest developments with terrorism and Iraq with Britain's Foreign Secretary Jack Straw today, before he attended a memorial service to the Britons killed in last October's Bali bombing.
"Those who argue that their guiding light is a peaceful solution should understand that that can only be achieved if people speak and act in unison," Mr Howard told reporters.
Let a million people demonstrate their peaceful guiding light in London this weekend. Overwhelming public opposition to war can change Government policy. It is not a lost cause and war with Iraq can be avoided.
