Iran gassed the Kurds in halabja not Iraq!

Harlequin | 11.02.2003 08:55

One of the biggest pieces of propaganda against Iraq is the supposed gassing of 5,000 Kurds by Iraq in 1988 in the town of Halabja. This event took place during the Iran / Iraq war though when both sides were using chemical weapons. After the Kurds were gassed an investigation into the incident took place by proffessers from the US army war college who concluded that the gassing was an accident by Iranian forces and not a deliberate act by Iraq.

All the experts are saying the gassing was a mistake by Iranian forces, so why are they being ignored by western governments? It just shows the amount of deception governments will use inorder justify their wars!

EYE WITNESS IN HALABJA

11.02.2003 10:24

On March 13, 1988, the city of Halabja in Iraqi Kurdistan was almost completely destroyed by the Iraqi armed
forces using chemical weapons. Around 8000 people were killed at the time and many thousands more died
from their injuries over the next few weeks. Halabja was not chosen arbitrarily as the site for such a massacre. It
had been a major site of proletarian struggle against the Iran-Iraq war. There was at least one deserter in every
house, and sometimes four or five. The following is a summary of translations of letters and articles we have
seen, written by comrades living in Halabja before and during the massacre. As the account speaks for itself...
