A group of anti war activists occupied the Labour Party's National HQ for membership and recruitment North Shields in a protest against the govenment's push for war.
The protestors, included both past and present members of the Labour Party, draped the building with anti-war banners and flags.

Spokesperson for the group Warren Knoyne, said:

"We are here because Labour is not listening to those it claims to represent. The war on Iraq is opposed by the vast majority of people in this country yet Tony Blair is pushing ahead with preparations for war. It's time for people to make their voices heard if we are to avoid a disastrous war"
