Bermuda, a British Overseas Territory, has a new peace group - Bermudans For Peace http://www.b4peace.com/
As a British Overseas Territory the Bermudan government rarely takes a stand on international issues, leaving it up to London to deal with foreign affairs. But this doesn't stop the people of Bermuda having an opinion, and being opposed to Bush's war. A new group Bermudans For Peace is already active, holding vigils and organising a demo for the 15th Feb. http://www.b4peace.com/
"Bermuda for Peace was formed to provide a voice in Bermuda for the promotion of peaceful and non-violent means for conflict resolution. As residents of a small island, we recognise the importance of connecting with the wider global community to foster a climate of peaceful co-existence where all human life is valued.
We will:
- Promote the internationally agreed standards of human rights and justice
- Raise awareness in Bermuda of the need for peace
- Collaborate with like-minded groups and individuals with the same goals of
non-violent conflict resolution. "
