Oil and War Day of Action - London BP visit

Harry Helios | 03.02.2003 11:57

Tuesday February 4th is an international day of action to highlight the connection between oil and war. So, in that spirit, London Rising Tide will be visiting BP's solar-powered station in Talgarth Road, Hammersmith. The timings are 11am-1pm.

We'll be distributing leaflets to drivers and passers-by, dancing about with banners, placards and generally malarkeying about - please drop by if you can. Feel free to make your own poster/placard/banner...

London Rising Tide is currently taking action to prevent BP's planned Baku-Ceyhan pipeline (www.bakuceyhan.org), but the ooverall focus is to say 'yes' to social and ecological justice, and 'no' to Big Oil, war, capitalism, climate chaos and corporate control of renewable energy.

Here's where it is and how to get there:

It's on the junction of Talgarth Road and Wilson's Road, W6, Hammersmith or Baron's Court tube. Baron's is probably a bit closer and less fiddly to walk from. That's a choice of Hammersmith & City, District or Piccadilly Lines to choose from.

By the way, you're very unlikely to get arrested at this do - it's more of an outreach thing...
