the anl/swp leafletted hundreds of homes like they did in all other elections where the bnp were standing.....with the same patronising message of vote to keepthe nazis out...the people in these wards have been shat on by all political parties...telling them to vote anti-nqazi is meaning les...the bnp probably promise better things for working class people than any of the other parties...
the only alternative is to build real localised community organisations, maybe like the iWCA, or the bristolian, or Unitein Hackney....the middle class SWP/ANL can not appeal to working class people....
p.s. in 2 other elecions that day the IWCA got hundreds of votes (22% of the vote)and nearly beat Labour in a working class area of Islington...while in Tottenham HAle, the SA, even with a firefighter as their candidate only got 70 votes, 3% of the vote
The lesson is clear...think global...but act local..

If you've got this fantastic foolproof strategy to beat the BNP, just fucking implement it! Stop wasting your time and ours continually slagging off other anti-fascists.

(and by the way, if the ANL are so irrelevant and ineffective, why are the BNP trying to get them banned?)
