ANARCHO-CRITICISM

spartacus | 24.01.2003 11:52

WHAT WILL WE DO AFTER THE WAR

ANARCHIC CRITCISM

ANTI-WAR PICNIC - TACTICS FOR PUBLIC CONTROL.
It must be an absurd tragic joke to see all the left groups and anarchists demonstrating all over the place against the war, this time it is Iraq. The anti-war movement is an empty reaction to every time the Bush administration or some else farts. Every time there is a war, suddenly the left finds a purpose, a reason to pretend to be fighting but in reality it is only an opposition on the same side of capitalism.
Demonstrating against the war is passe; it is a primitive form of historical reaction well encompassed within the system. Demonstrating against wars shows only how impotent and limited the left groups and their parties including although understandably anarchists too.
Demonstrating in general and in particular against wars, becomes a sad pathetic event for consciousness cleansing in today’s situation.
Demonstrating against the war for peace is a deluding lie, a fallacy that a real peace can exist in capitalism, a dangerous illusion, only by the fall of capitalism will war of all against all ends forever.
To stop the war you must stop capitalism, you must lock up Bush his friends and family with Saddam and co in the same cell without any UN inspection.
The war that will end all war is a social anarchic revolution; this means the end of capitalism.
Through this anarcho-social revolution war and violence will diminish completely from human behavior with one another. War will disappear immediately and all violence as the anarchic society develops and grows.

Wow.

It's always refreshing to hear that we're all wrong and we ought to listen to some numpty whose "just realised" that capitalism is, like, really bad (cf Naomi Klein).

We on the left have been aware of this Amazing Fact for -hmm- over 200 years, knobhead. And we'll be aware of it long after you've sold out and joined your daddy's company as another yuppie exec.

And while it might be a nice idea to get rid of capitalism first and go straight on to utopia, those of us with half a brain sort of realise that, here and now, we have more chance of stopping an imperialist war against Iraq than to get the Sun reading masses storming the City.

THAT's why so many people don't respect anarchists - too many of 'em are posturing know-nothings that think they are the only one who really 'gets it.'

Work with, and support, ANYONE who seems to be trying (in whatever way) to move society to the left.

The forces of capitalism and reaction never hesitate to work together in their own interests. Why don't we?

Tchoh!

anti-war joke - the flower against the gun

Advertising anarchism = seriously
No wonder you don’t have the support for the revolution because you are demonstrating / advertising your commodity – revolution.
Protesting & advertising because it is not meant to stop the war -
Exactly - neither their war, nor their peace - connect anti-peace activism with anti-capitalist activism, which will increase our number.

No war but class war

I agree that anti-war demonstrations won't end capitalism. But taking a puritanical line does not solve anything. I am not a pacifist because I believe that if a revolution comes, we will have to be armed against the capitalist state. Class war is a form of warfare, although probably involves a lot less deaths than the average war or famine instigated by the Americans. Yet, I will gladly march alongside a Quaker, a Jew, a Muslim, a CofE church-goer or (and this really sticks in my throat) an SWPer or anyone else who agrees that the war against Iraq is objectionable and will result in needless loss of life for the sake of oil supply. Also, I have no illusions about the "anti-war" French and Germans, who are advancing their own interests in the Middle East, ie appealing to Arab dictatorships to access - wait for it - supply oil. I am against the United Nations, against Western imperialism and against the death of thousands of civilians. Anyone else who cares about the genocide that capitalism is unleashing on the Middle East should march next Saturday, whatever their politics or religion (if they have one).

UNITED WE STAND AGAINST THE WAR!

Dan

Electoral garbage
The end of classes and the beginning of freedom.
Not any more, the working class is a minority in the industrial world, therefore raising class-consciousness means having consciousness for less than half of the population.
We have protested for centuries and where did it get us – capitalism just got stronger
Nice speech – a national front against the war. What else can they do?

Hmm

25.01.2003 12:04

Sorry Spartacus, but we need to focus on the war because there are lots of anti-war protesters who are not subversives. Which is better? An anti-war movement several million strong or a subversion movement 5,000 strong at the most?
