The police had lots of cameras, including some much nicer bigger ones. The MOD police had their own, as did the royal marines.

Do you think it will do any good?

I just have a question. Do you think that it will do any good? I personally think that Bush will have his war no matter what Saadam does. I don't think that Saadam has any weapons of mass destruction, but I also believe that my government will fault find anything he does just to prove that war is necessary. I'm on retirement status with the National Guard, and there could be a possibility that I may be called back into the military. I don't like this idea because I think that my government is going over its head in this situation, and that it might have to deal with a situation that it cannot win. I think my government is going to find itself fighting many Muslims. We have 6,000,000 Muslims in this country that hate us, last thing we need to do is to stir up 70,000,000 Muslims. With Russia backing up Iraq, I see my country in serious trouble. I guess we never learn from history. Like when George Washington said in his farewell address about staying out of international affairs, and other countries business.

It does do good

If nothing else forums and spaces like Indymedia allow for others to see that there is opposition to the war. That animates others to take a stand that they may have thought had few supporters. As for protests actually affecting the war machine, in my opinion it´s going to come down to putting our bodies on the line and blocking either the production or transportation, and probably both, of war materials. Unfortunately it may be too late to stop the new escalation since there are already tens of thousands of troops in the various countries surrounding Iraq. But if it becomes a war as you say that has the possibility of lasting much longer than anticipated, then this tactic would prove very useful, although right now, I think the only workers in the States that would even entertain the idea are the Longshoremen. So there´s transportation, but the production, that´s much more difficult. Anyway, food for thought...
