"This is a 3 part series about the happenings in Ramallah, Jenin & Gaza during the months of June & July 2002. Each part is half an hour long. The daily lives of Palestinians living under Israeli army occupation are explored. The issues of roadblocks, checkpoints, curfews, incursions, & daily killings are looked at closely, as the film is being shot at the time of Israeli military operations. The
international Solidarity Movement, a loose conglomeration of International activists, try to help under these terrible conditions. Emphasis of the roles Internationals can play in solidarity with the Palestinians is stressed including observation of the Israeli army actions, public demonstration, acting as human shields & doing relief work delivering food & medecine under curfew. The Main aim is to tell the truth as to what is happening 'on the ground' In Palestine."

FOR A MAP OF FAIRFORD VILLAGE:
 http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?X=415000&Y=201000&scale=10000
BACKGROUND: R.A.F Fairford (in Gloucestershire) can now house the U.S B2 Stealth bombers. In tests the B-2 has successfully released mini-nuclear weapons. These are a new generation of `more usable' U.S nuclear bombs, to go with their new generation of Stealth Weapons. The U.S wishes to use British soil to house these weapons, placing the U.K in the frontline of the U.S war for oil. In the event R.A.F
Fairford is used as a base in yet another U.S war, the people of this region will be faced with the constant daily roar of U.S Bombers on their way to carpet bomb Iraq cities. See 'RELATED CAMPAIGNS' below for more background info.

3) STOP THE CITY ON THE OUTBREAK OF WAR
In the event war is not averted, we call upon everyone to converge at the Peace Vigil @6:00pm on the evening following* the 'official' outbreak of war with Iraq. 4) MASS VIGIL ACTION : WED 29th JANUARY @6:00pm
As the 27th January approaches (the date the Weapons Inspectors submit their report to the U.N) there exists a mounting & all too real possibility that the Bush Administration will initiate total war within hours of that date. The precedent for this is the 15th January 1991, when Bush Senior initiated total war within hours of the
deadline for Iraq to withdraw from Kuwait. In the 6 weeks that followed the equivalent of 7.5 Hiroshima bombs were dropped on Iraq.
U.N REPORT:  http://www.iacenter.org/rc12600.htm
In the event that total war is not initiated within those 48 hours we call on you to attend the Vigil in anticipation of the massacre to come, "Everyone should raise the threat of war in their schools, places of worship, where they work & live. We could be facing a Third World War triggered by stupid men." Tony Benn
For the last 9 months the Stop The City Campaign (see above) has been advertised widely as our Plan B in the event that war is not averted. In the event that total war against the Iraqi people begins once more, we call on you to join with us in bringing our City Centre to a standstill in defiance of Mr Blair's defiance of the public will.

7) NEWS : THE U.S PEACE MOVEMENT 18th JAN 2003
 http://dc.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=46397&group=webcast
"The significance of the event became immediately apparent: For perhaps the first time in history, a massive march of people against war was on the loose in the nation's capitol, controlling the streets & showing no signs of stopping. A sea of people stretching more than 1 mile long & taking up 4 lanes of roadway marched through the nation's capitol Saturday (18th Jan) in vocal & colorful opposition
to the U.S government's drive to war with Iraq. Tens of thousands of people of diverse ages & ethnic backgrounds braved frigid weather to peacefully rally in front of Congress & march in the streets of Washignton, DC, to oppose war & demand peace & justice. In the game of estimating crowd size, police said about 30,000 people
participated while organizers put the number at 500,000. Many independent observers estimated about 200,000 people participated, which made it twice as large as the last anti-war rally in DC in October." "Even those who advocate war say it is to keep or create peace.....
SAY YES TO PEACE...SAY YES TO PEACE...SAY YES TO PEACE.
A seed, a glimpse, & idea, an e mail, a memory of all the movies I have seen that tell the story of some little person somewhere who had a simple idea that captured the imagination of the neighbourhood, the town the media & the world. Why not? the protests are not working. The press doesn't cover them other than a mention.
We renounce violence, (the usual diet of the press) as a way of making a statement of peace. WE have to think and act out of the box. The media is highly accessible, we need to develop & use ours skills of using the language of our times to ride the media - like Gullivers Travels, Animal Farm, Alice In Wonderland etc. They are always up for
a juicy story, especially something completely different. We need to point to the internet as the source of real news.
Tell people, ordinary people who don't use the net other than for shopping. Print flyers/mailing labels telling people to use the net for news. Stick them up everywhere, in bus shelters, on trains, leave them in the shopping aisle of the supermarket. Saying 'no to war' is oppositional & breeds more of the same, saying 'YES TO PEACE' is all encompassing. Even those who advocate war say it's to keep or create peace. From there we can move forward as one global community & figure out how to acheive our goal.
The 'SAY YES TO PEACE' meme is designed to catalyse a paradigm shift from the 'them and us' mentality to 'US'. It's an experiment that you're invited to participate in, whether it works or not remains to be seen. Please forward this message & send this wave around the planet. SAY YES TO PEACE...SAY YES TO PEACE...SAY YES TO PEACE. Include this line at the top & bottom of every email ... pass it on ... Greet someone new today, smile, say hello, shake their hand ... let the peace begin." Brian

11) RELATED CAMPAIGNS
This is additional info on the 'R.A.F FAIRFORD ACTION' above
Further Info:  http://www.cynatech.co.uk/gwi//index.htm
This action is now being backed by Ann Pettitt who, in 1981, organised a march from Cardiff to Greenham Common. From small beginnings it snowballed into the Greenham Common Peace Camp. On Sunday 26th Jan 2003 Ann & many of the Greenham women will be joining the Gloucestershire Weapons Inspectors (GWI) for a mass citizens weapons inspection at USAF Fairford in the Cotswolds. Everyone is
invited to attend. "There are remarkable parallels between then & now and that's what caught my imagination," says Ann Pettitt. "In 1981 we were told that theatre nuclear weapons, cruise missiles, at Greenham would make the world safer but we felt they edged us nearer to crossing the nuclear threshold. It took years to pull back from the
threshold back then & yet we now find ourselves, once more, on the brink."
