There is a call for the collection video evidence for the purposes of the trials and investigations around Genoa. A formal announcement form the legal team will be made in the coming days, this appeal is especially aimed at international participoants many of whose footage never found its way into the hands of thos einvolved inthe legal fallout.

Meanwhile yesterday the annual civil liberties report of the European Parliament was passed on wednesday by a narrow margin. Article 28 of the document 'deplores the suspension of human rights during demonstrations and in particular on the occasion of the meeting of the G8 in Genoa".

A further amendment proposed by the PSE stated that "as regards the disturbances in Genoa we will continue to give particular attention to the outcome of the administrative investigations initiated in Italy to determine if on that occasion there was recourse to inhuman or degrading punishments."

The report was pased by a narrow margin: 274 -269 (14 abstentions)

The EPP-ED group voted against the report. No great surprise that the Tories are part of that faction.
