GREENHAM REIGNITES!

On 26th January, the day before Hans Blix is due to put in his report, civilian weapons inspectors will assemble in front of USAF FAirford. The base is equipped to launch the B2 stealth bombers, which will be used in the event of an attack on Iraq, and which are able to carry the new "mini nukes". Among those signed up are Ann Pettitt, the originator of the Greenham Common Protests, which resulted in Greenham being the only decommissioned nuclear base in Europe. See www.gwi.org.uk for details.

Greenham is not the only decommissioned nuclear base in Europe. Other examples might include RAF Gutersloh, Laarbruck, Wildenrath, Waddington, Scampton, Gayford and Coningsby to name but a few.

should have clarified: "only decommissioned nuclear base in Europe at the time".
