What has went wrong in Copenhagen?

NoCons | 15.12.2002 00:23

We´re getting reports about severe conflicts between danish "veteran" activist (the BZ clique) and protesters from abroad. One dane is said to have attacked a swedish activist with a knife.

Today danish "organisers" of the resistence against the EU-summit in Copenhagen was confronted by harsh accusations by several swedish (and some british) activists. Belive it or not, this solely verbal confontation resulted in a danish "organiser" drawing a knife against another protester!
The whole thing must apparently be seen in the light of the disastrous, unsuccssesful "action" against the Bella Center (the location of the EU summit) yesterday. Obviously, the total lack of initiated guidance by the danish veterans lead to the failure of the action, as well as disappointment among foreign activists.
If the received information is correct, one thing is for sure; the danish "elite-" activists have flagrantly displayed that they have a more genuine interest in heavy narcotics than in effective mass resistence!

"One Dane is said to have pulled a knife on a Sweedish activist..."

Errrm, indymedia is a place for publishing news stories, not rumours. I have no idea about whether this rumour is true or not (and certainly don't care about the nationality of the people involved - psychos come from every country!) but this NEWSwire should not be used for spreading unconfirmed rumours. Try to be a bit more responsible in the future!

Something tells me....

Something tells me your reaction would be different if someone published "rumors" about, for instance, secret operations performed by the CIA or something like that. Actually A LOT of the material here on the IMC consists of unconfirmed information - didn´t you know? Or are yoy just naive?
I think your personal problems concerning the article above has got more to do with the question whether you welcome negative publicity about these activists or not, rather than how trustworthy the sources are.
