12-12-2002 - the NEW WORD ORDER of the POOR

We the poor people of the World, in order to rise from an imperfect union, establish our own justice, see no domestic tranquility, ask, what common defense, denounce the general welfare systems, and will take by force the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the New World Order of the Poor.

This preamble to the newly formed NWOP was delivered by Rosa Neww, wearing a shirt stating Corporate Globalization Threatens World's Poor, during a webcast to many gathered groups all over the world yesterday. "We aren't going to take it anymore," roared Neww in a scene much like the one in Network where the guy is MAD AS HELL, as she leaned from a window in an undisclosed location in an unnamed city somewhere on this planet. She shouted out one injustice after another, going OFF about poverty, the loss of privacy and protection, about not enough money to feed a cat let alone a family, about urban black youth being eliminated, hate crimes, genocide you name it and she was frothing when she got to terror.

Terror is living in a warzone. Terror is when the rent is due. Terror is eviction. Terror is a camp. Terror is when your child is deathly ill and there's nowhere to go. Terror is living in the streets. Terror is when your neighbor turns you in. Terror is getting pulled over for driving a beat-up car. Terror is when your food stamps or welfare or meager paycheck is late. Terror is when the food trucks are hijacked. Terror is living day-to-day in fear of any and every tomorrow. Terror is being poor. Period.

Neww took on every single government in existance, saying there wasn't ONE that cared for the people at the bottom. "They need us there, " she declared. "they need the projects filled and the jails overspilling. They need us in their charity hospitals, they USE us to test on. They need us working their fields, cleaning their toilets. Health care is for the rich bitch, her old husband and their perfect children, they have insurance plus the money to get the best there is and we the poor, suffer and die as we're only allowed entrance to the lower levels health care which doesn't exist in at all in many countries."

"They think we're stupid, like we don't know what's really going on. We felt alone and trusted no one, but that has changed. We are uniting now and there's more of us and than there is of them. As a team, 'they' don't stand a chance against the oppressed peoples of the world. She was shaking her pompoms at this point, quite a woman, that Rosa Neww, who went on to tell her audience that thanks to all those who gathered in chatrooms, yahoo groups, IRC, usenet and message boards and then spread the word via mouth and flyers in their respective towns, this was all happening. She said the Governments had tried to use this technology against them, and now they're fighting back with the same ammunition.

The speech was long, hitting on other things such as the computers Microsoft and the Governments have provided for underpriviledged children and entire nations. "Why do you think they want to wire us up, put terminals in the libraries, they're snooping on us, they've got files thicker than all the bricks a mason could lay. Aren't you sick of being puppets and slaves and guinea pigs for the rich cats who want to run the world? Down with the New World Order and Up with the New World Order of the Poor!"

It's more than cool to find that the poor of so many countries are finally mad as hell and are protesting, without the freedoms Americans have, but are switfly losing. It takes great courage to go against the grain and complain in this way. Many in South American countries are getting beaten and arrested, but that hasn't shut them up. There have been strikes in many countries recently, but what if all the world's poor pulled a stoppage.? There would be no one behind the counters, no one on the other end of the box at Burger King, no one working the gas stations, in other words, we the bottom-feeders not doing a damn thing -- the little people making a noise too loud to ignore. Roar on!!

"Let's get this party going," Rosa cheered as she popped open a bottle of cheap champagne, donated by a local liquor store, obscuring the view as the foam hit the webcam. You could hear her saying, "I leave the end of this webcast with Moralee Wright and her song Power of the Poor."

Seems that I've fallen back on hard times
Not too many nickles, not too many dimes
I can't pay my rent, I can't feed my kids
We're about to be evicted and put out on the skids.

My money's been cut by 300 bills
There's nothing left over for cheap thrills or frills
I can't cure my sickness, I can't cure my ills
I'm dying of fever, think I'll OD on pills

The rich don't know years of hunger and pain
They don't have to listen to their babies complain
All these poor childern suffer in vain
It's enough to drivvve any parent insane

There's always monies for deefence and war
Well look out you suckers, we're gonna even the score
The cry from we people is we'll take it no more
You'd better watch out for the power of the poor
You'd better watch out for the POWER of the poor

To understand just a microcosm of what the poor go through, give these a read. If they don't make your heart bleed, it shouldn't be pumping.
