ho de hum ... why not read marx.

start with marxs classic critique of proudhon THE POVERTY OF PHILOSOPHY. then ask yourself why marx seems to have a relevance above any political activist or theorist you can name. the answer is simple, because besides being both activist and theorist, marx was a philosopher in his own right, perhaps the last of the true greats. this puts him ahead of the social-grubbing proudhon, and even the great revolutionaries of marxs own day, (such as garibaldi, engels, blanqui, bakunin, nechayev, etc.) and even of latter years, (such as trotsky, guevara, ho chi minh etc)
