Saturday

Introductions 11-11.30am
Meet everyone, have a cup of tea…

Palestine 11.30-12 noon
Talk by an activist who just came back from 3 months in Palestine, and opportunity for questions.

Disarm DSEi 12-12.30pm
Talk and discussion about plans for huge protests against the DSEi arms fair in London next September, for which YSCND is a supporting group.

Lunch 12.30-1.30pm

Aldermaston 1.30-2.30pm
Talk and discussion by member of the women’s peace camp about planned expansion of the Atomic Weapons Establishment at Aldermaston, West Berkshire.

European Social Forum 2.30-3.30pm
Talk about the ESF by two YSCND members who went to the meetings in Florence, and meetings on War/Peace and Nuclear Disarmament in Europe. Also plans for next year in Paris including a possible joint action with Mouvement de la Paix.

How to Set Up a Local Group 3.30-4pm
We have a growing number of local groups nationally. Wanna set one up where you live for more effective campaigning? Find out how!

Banner Painting 4-6pm
In the basement, paint YSCND banners.

Organisational Meeting (members only) 11-1.30pm
Updates from the office, finances, local groups etc, plus your chance to help decide how YSCND is run for the next year, and to get more involved.
11-11.30am Constitutional amendments, nominations and elections
11.30-12.15pm Updates on: finances, office, action network, website, local groups
12.15-1.30pm Policy/Campaigning priorities for the next year

Lunch 1.30-2.30pm

No War on Iraq 2.30-3.30pm
Talk and discussion by Voices in the Wilderness activist about the possible attack on Iraq and planned protests against it.

Lock-ons Workshop & Faslane Briefing 3.30-4.30pm
Find out about the next blockade at Faslane Naval Base (where the British Trident nukes are kept) and how activists use lock-on tubes, carabiners, d-locks and handcuffs to lock on as a blockading technique. And have a go yourself!
