Note: some of these fools here in this photo, playing the media game that the anarchists so despise, are also indymedia..
Although 'Indymedia', whoever they are, were forbidden to operate during the NATO Summit in Prague (because the authorities visited internet cafes and social centres in advance to deter them from playing host to press who might present dissenting reportage of the NATO Summit), the indymedia site was uploaded regularly during the protests against NATO's presence in Prague. The fact of the matter remains that as long as one has a laptop computer and a mobile phone, one can publish independent opinions without harrassment from the authorities.
Surely I've not let the cat out of the bag as to the methods the independent media employed to stay ahead of the authorities?!
The Czech/Nato/Europol authorities are continuing to monitor this website in their analysis of how to nip criticism in the bud for future summits (read: G8 and World Bank, etc.), and question how and why activists can operate under their noses despite millions of dollars spent on surveillance and deterrence..

A backhander here to the Black Bloc anarchos. You lot have an important role to play in the (r)evolution of the world and creation of a just and cooperative humanity, but posing for the media with your balaclavas and Arafat scarves reinforces stereotypes the authorities seek to crush. As much as you hate us 'media', you should also realise that despite the theatre and misinformation, any one of us might be independent and dedicated to issues other than the propaganda machine. You might think you've staged a symbol of defiance that will resound for future summits, but I suspect the real revolution going on in Prague this week were those of us who remained anonymous yet managed to subvert the huge aparatus designed to neutralise our influence..
Hope that doesn't sound patronising, but without the balaclavas, Palestinian kheffirs and black bravado, we slipped in and out undetected whilst you were all photographed by intelligence agencies and your files expanded.
See you next time, but you won't see us!
