Tanzania Muslims fear terror legislation

Tanzania, influenced by the US, is set to pass tough anti-terror legislation which Muslims fear could be used to intimidate and oppress them, instead of fighting terrorism.


The Mosque Council of Tanzania on Friday warned President Benjamin Mkapa to be cautious when he signs the bill because, it said, some of its clauses will cause unrest in the country.
