Inside the US Stupid Voters - Danger!

Jaramillo Galan | 15.11.2002 02:02

Only 32 percent of voters went to the polls as most people think it a chore and would rather wash the new -zero interest rate - auto. Center Left Democrats suffer worst defeat in history - may be permanent.Blame rests with moderate and green leaders who refuse to discuss reality - I know - I taught them! Then I warned Them - no listen...

US THINK GLOBAL (Dominator) - ACT LOCO (AL)
GOBBlE dictator-tots (in denial)

I hate American (US) politics - always have. It is the worst structured "democracy" in the world. Surrounded by this sickly ignorant country of buffoons and wanna-be fascists - it is hard not to respond to the latest disaster
"I don't vote because I don't want to feel good." Voting in the US one- party-system is like recycling, bike-riding and the organic food fad. These are nice self-centered - feel good - hobbies and fairly harmless as long as you don't believe they will ever change anything. Actually they cause a great deal of harm! Goals are not tactics!
The Sierra Club, the Greens, the left-democrats, liberal churches and all the special interest US "Gen-X" realists (Gays, Peace-nicks, Solar Freaks and most minority activists, Julia Butterfly?) - SUCK. The timidity and the "playing-the GAME" rituals they preach to who knows who or why. This reasonable, compromised "smileyness,”: is the reason people are so passive and ignorant. The moderates peddle censorship and fabricated truths for money and career choice improvements. This is climbing the ladder of success and the truth - the true stories - be damned. … US Imperialism, Pollution, Death Squads, ad naseum…
Most people in the US and the whole system are deeply evil and yet the alternative leaders babble platitudes about a consensus for a green future. The majority in the US always has been proto-fascist, racist addicts. Now there is no reason left to debate about this. Look at the elections: the US has moved farther right than any time in its history and global terror is our/their calling card. The first time in history that all three political bodies at the Federal level were taken over during an off-year election and the first time in 50 years that the right-wing has held all three.
There is only one terrorist on this planet. His name is George W. Bush - El Senor "her" Bush. His daddy got him wired into a secret clique of the CIA Globalistas. He spreads a disease of mind confusion with a new gospel based on the World Trade Organization and corporate fascism. His henchmen are narcotics traffickers and criminal gangsters who revel in the power he bestows upon them. The world is a hostage in this final crusade of El Bush.

"The Bushites are beyond dangerous - they are kooky laissezfaire empire builders, zealots seeking to compel a rowdy and rebellious world to accept their corporate ideology, imposing their will by military force. This is not about Iraq - it's about perverting 227 years of our people's democratic aspirations into a far-fetched reach for global corporate dominance. It is a wrenching perversion of who we are… These people have to be stopped…
… 'the power to dream, to rule… to wrestle the world from fools.' J Hightower and Patti Smith – pamphlet The Hightower Lowdown, October 2002

The whole world has the same problem. We don't know what kind of world - what kind of life - we want, we don't know how to get there and we are so scarred that we don't want to talk about life. It passes by. Oppression grows and our choices are fewer - maybe singular.
From our immature awareness and delusion we expect a decent world in the future and we think that everyone agrees it should be good and better than now and though the poor may always be with us - they do deserve dignity and more security. But apathy or resignation toward the future is to turn heaven towards hell.
We who think the world is headed to more inequality, degraded environments, overcrowded cities and a dead end materialism that steals all cultures and breeds crime`: We must design and prescribe a new way - the only other choice - a way of less waste equals more security for all forever.
The globalistas and the big capitalists know they have unleashed forces that they cannot control or appease: too many people chasing limited resources. They know what we know too: that the wealth of the rich and the West must be taken or given away - and soon if there is to be a future. We have to nurture our remaining natural resources and each other in order to survive the hard times ahead. And we have to demand the US stop the violence and stop peddling arms everywhere.
The fools in the Democratic Party will act out their planned last gassssp and their final gift to the wealthy. They will pump-up their words and their toughness - maybe even squeak out a leftist "we're for the workers" fart. Slightly radical rhetoric - though lacking any fresh substance ( it's been 68 years) - will fool another generation of young people and maturing activists.
Forget politics unless you are just unloading angst. Come and join us in the streets where there are real battles to be fought against US Imperialism in the Middle East and Latin America. Stop buying corporate crap and give your dirty dollars to the movement - the real one this time.

SOLUTIONS:

The only hope for relevance and non-complicity in terror by the US Democratic Party is to adopt the following platform immediately: FOUR DEMANDS: A New US Domestic Economics Program of taxing the rich to fund ecological living and restoration; a New US Foreign Policy package of "no-strings" aid and reparations; support for a transition to the economics of the Earth Charter; and Full Solidarity with the New Latin American leftist governments and their policies which include:

1. Support for left parties throughout the region so that power can be consolidated and reinforcing.
2. South American trade pacts, integration and mutual support among people, political parties and left governments.
3. Rejection of the FTAA and parts of the WTO – especially in agriculture.
4. OAS war crimes tribunals against the US and Colombian governments and individuals. Investigations into the history of the US throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
5. Removal of all US military bases, advisors, and most of the US embassy staffs from Latin America.
6. Continental drug conferences to adopt partial legalization and alternatives to the militarized US drug war.

Failure to adopt this platform will see the world grow extremely polarized against US domination and law breaking. This will soon lead to adoption of George Salzman's prescription for controlling the US:

International Action to Control the US-Corporate Endangerment of the World
"Stop US drive for Global Domination"

Are there any Radicals in the US?

15.11.2002 05:13

Hello Indymedia and Jaramilo,

I have to agree with Jaramilo there aren't really any radicals in the US. I have been studying there and I read everything I can and ask a lot of questions. Everyone here has their own little world and their own safe issue to fight for and they don't want to connect them - don't even want to talk about the connections.

It is so materialistic - all the teenagers with cellphones and fancy cars with boom-boom boxes. I hope maybe the kids will get excited about the elections and chnges in Brazil or yell against the terrible war crimes of the US in COlombia. But I would say to my friends in the South - "Don't count on any help from the US people - they are lost." So sad, I can't wait to leave this glittery place and get back to the real world.

europe is full of radical chic lefties

15.11.2002 07:47

I find myself surrounded by radical chic lefties.
If you criticise the Left they say you are from the right.
"Oh you can't say that IT's dangerous"
But Dangerous for who ?
I think that these bougiouse lefties are one of the biggest problems facing "The Movement"
As we didn't have a war in Europe for 50 years and since the sixties a lot of people have become nu rich, a lot of them hhave been to college and had a fucking easy life, they drop into a good job and their parents or grandparents have left them a bundle.

In Florence last week 750.000 people marched against the war,
but "the left" has claimed the march as their own .

So we are still in the same situation either you get up in the arse from the right or if you want the leftie look you can have it in the arse from them, either way the people get shafted. it's amazing how the amount of these radical chic types also claim jewish ancestry and there we come to another
very dodgy part of the story ..

Left and right is just a distraction, FIGHT the POWER

Opinion of one quasi-American

15.11.2002 09:25

I have a British mother (she grew up in Yorkshire) who married an American.

I myself grew up in the US.

The article says,

>

That may or may not be true.

If by most people, you mean 51% of Americans, perhaps you are right.

However, at least 49% are not evil. I have lived in many other regions of the world, in Asia, in Latin America, in the Middle East, and in Britain.

I do not think most working class Americans are any more evil or less evil than people anywhere else.

Corrupt US leaders, in politics, in business, in the labor unions, are probably more evil than others in different countries. If they are, it is because the are corrupted. The US is simply too powerful. Power itself leads to corruption.

Perhaps, all US citizens are corrupted, to the extent that they support and consciously identify with their Americanness, and support the government.

But most working class people in the US are not seeking to exploit others. They are thwarted in their attempts to organize, or even to preserve their own jobs.

Americans are, as a general rule, fairly ignorant of the suffering which the US causes elsewhere. Americans are in part to blame for their own ignorance. But the corporate controlled media do whatever they can to make sure that most Americans do not hear about what the US has done. We no longer have a free press, as exists in most of Europe. The US press is, in fact, less free than the Pakistani press.

As to the existence of radicals in the US; there are a number of them. I do not know if you consider Noam Chomsky a radical intellectual. Radical activists are rarer than they used to be, perhaps. But even when they act, the media just ignores them.

You have to read about them in indymedia.

If there were such a thing as an American radical, what do people in Europe think such a radical could or should do?

Some people in the southwest just poured blood on some nuclear siloes. They were arrested, and will probably be jailed for a few decades.

Some protesters heckle Bush, and were jailed.

Other demonstrators are arrested preemptively, during IMF protests.

People are allowed to demonstrate peacefully against the war, but their message is ignored by the news media, which downplays their numbers. 100,000 people marching is reported by major papers as 10,000.

Radicals in the US are in the same position as William Blake in the 1790's. They are totally isolated, and when they speak or demonstrate they are looked upon as traitors, even suffering arrrests.

We are looking to Europe for encouragement. Why does Blair act the part of the Poodle? Is it an indication that the British are evil. I certainly do not think so.

Britain, France, Russia, (Germany,) and China could stop the US if they really wanted to. Moral suasion would be enough. But approving the resolution at the UN did not help.
