Taking place at The Scala, Kings Cross on Thursday 21st November from 8.00pm to 3.00am, Festival of Flight presents “Speak Out”, in aid of Hope and Homes for Children – 4 rooms of unparalleled excellence featuring over 120 artists, including internationally renowned Gilles Peterson.

Festival of Flight presents
“SPEAK OUT –Another Way Is Possible”

Festival of Flight invites both artists and audience to embrace their choice in the celebration of positive action and Speak Out for Non-Violent Conflict Resolution.

By incorporating live music, DJ’s, poetry, theatre, speakers, peaceful direct action, alternative therapies, performance, the selling of a triple CD compilation, the launch of the art exhibition, “Mirrored Vision”, multi-media and visual art displays, this night endeavours to be nothing but an unmitigated explosion of positive energy!

All proceeds made on the night will go to Hope and Homes for Children, whose mission is to give hope to children world-wide, who have nowhere to live due to war or disaster, by providing them with loving family homes. With over 20 million children being uprooted fro their homes worldwide due to conflict (for example, 40,000 children orphaned in Sierra Leone), this charity endeavours to see the dreams of these children come true by helping to rebuild their futures,

Other artists featuring during the night include Nucleus Roots, Penny Rimbaud (Crass Collective) and the English Chamber Choir, Yeast Audio Visuals, Maxi Jazz - MC and DJ and Nemo (Faithless), The Barefoot Doctor, Seize the Day, Pathaan (Stoned Asia Music), Mira Calix (Warp Records), Writers in Exile, and a collaboration of Head Space, Ninja Tune and Pirate TV. Others, such as Badmarsh and Shri, Nitin Sawhney, John B, Terry Callier and Faithless have donated tracks for Festival of Flight’s first triple CD compilation, “Speak Out- another way is possible”, going on sale at the event and through independent record stores.

When you terrify people, you limit their ability to act. When you inspire them, it increases their capacity for positive action.
