British Aerospace tube ad subvertising

saw some excellent subverts on the tube tonight

BAe are currently running a major advertising campaign in the carriages of London tubes.

The ads have fluffy pictures and some text telling us about some clever invention they made (there are many different versions). The logo has "British Aerospace" in white lettering (probably Helvetica) in a bright red rectangle, and under this, some rubbish along the lines of 'making the world a safer place'.

The subverter had copied the logo nicely on a red rectangular sticker with the words "PROFITING FROM DEATH" in white lettering. The sticker was under their logo and really looked like part of the ad - excellent.

A larger white sticker over their text had the following info on it -

Before the Gulf War, BAe supplied Iraq with weapons. When Iraq didn't pay for them, the UK Export Credit Guarantee Department did, so BAe still made its profit thanks to the British taxpayer.
British Aerospace - profiting from death.

Something for commuters to read and learn - nice work.

Let's all get moving on this campaign and really subvert it big time.

Also saw a Raytheon ad on the side of a cab the other day with some rubbish about protecting us all.

The arms companies are obviously gearing up their advertising presence to take advantage of their upturn in shares with the coming war!
