IAO Mission: The DARPA Information Awareness Office (IAO) will imagine, develop, apply, integrate, demonstrate and transition information technologies, components and prototype, closed-loop, information systems that will counter asymmetric threats by achieving total information awareness useful for preemption; national security warning; and national security decision making.
IAO Vision: The most serious asymmetric threat facing the United States is terrorism, a threat characterized by collections of people loosely organized in shadowy networks that are difficult to identify and define. IAO plans to develop technology that will allow understanding of the intent of these networks, their plans, and potentially define opportunities for disrupting or eliminating the threats. To effectively and efficiently carry this out, we must promote sharing, collaborating and reasoning to convert nebulous data to knowledge and actionable options. IAO will accomplish this by pursuing the development of technologies, components, and applications to produce a proto-type system.

As much as "control and surveilance" is pushed by governments i just have to lagh at the above.

The website (DO check it out) smells from miles away that it is a fraud. No info on getting in contact with the corporation/offices etc.

Its to obvious to put the Illuminati symbol on your logo. Unless of course you are the federal bank of the USA which prints it on every $1 dollar, or any other official organisation.

The above is good laugh do check it out.

Indy

Actually, that website is legit...

Well, unless the poster has managed to pull of a very sophisticated DNS poisoning exploit against every DNS server in the world - that it the actual legitimate website of the Defense Research Projects Agency. You can't just register any old .mil domain you like, you know - in fact you can't register a .mil domain at all.

It's genuine.

WTF

Well - that's a new one! Any final opinion on ways to fake a .mil, or is that legit? Computer programs to replace human thinking (Yes, I read the research proposals) and open opportunites for corporate proposals. If it's not real, someone went to way too much trouble. Honestly, the logo is the scariest bit of it! So is that legit, and what's the story behind it?

Bwa?
