On Saturday night, some of us opted not to go to a commercial pub or club and partied on the beach instead. Here are some pics.

Always wait until the announced hour, don't leave just because you can't see the beach!! when the tide is up, it is really unbelievable that a beach can be there, some of my incredolous friends left and missed a very nice party

I remember those - we used to call them picnics. And from whom are you reclaiming the beach?

We used to party in the street years ago!

I know none of you will believe this but a few years ago a few of us used to organise massive rave style parties on the street! We used to all meet up at a redirection point then travel by tube or walk to the party destination a few miles away. In 1996 we took over a motorway at Shepherds Bush and the biggest one was in Trafagar Square in April 1997 when about 5,000 people partied in front of the National Gallery! Lets bring back those street parties they were far better than the beach partys of recent times on the Thames shore!

If anyone remembers these street parties or has pictures of them then put them on this thread.

the beach parties are some of the best in London, great music (eclectic mix), great people, great location.

yeah, the street parties (reclaim the streets) of the mid to late '90s were by far some of the greatest parties to ever happen, and I and im sure many others miss them dearly.
