Johann Hartshauser works in a warehouse at Munich Airport. Or he did. Until the Bavarian Police decided, under the "anti-terrorism" laws introduced by the government after September 11th, that he was "unreliable" and a "threat to security".Why exactly? Known connections to islamic fundamentalists? An unusual interest in chemicals?
..............No, Johann Hartshauser's only "crime" was flyposting, in 1983.

on the 16th October 1983 he was "confirmed [by police] as an activist from the Gruppe
Internationale Marxisten (GIM)", when he was stopped while flyposting for a public
meeting. The GIM was then the German section of the United Secretariat of the
Fourth International, whose British section is today the ISG.

"A police patrol car caught us, and because we were supposedly doing something
illegal, they took our names and addresses and threatened us with a fine if we were
caught again.", says Johann, who has worked for a private firm in the airport since
1995.

Johann Hartshauser has been prevented from entering his workplace since late
August, becuase of something he did, something as unimportant as flyposting, for
which he was not fined or cautioned, twenty years previously.

When Johann challenged the decision, the South Bavarian Aviation Office went
further. They replied that he hadn't distanced himself from his political past; that there
is no reason to believe that he is not still a member of an "extremist left-wing
organisation" and would not support such organisations. "Furthermore we have
further knowledge that we have to keep secret, that we therefore cannot inform you
of."
