The sight of Bush weilding a high power semi-automatic gun, oh man that's rich.

Bush doesn't have the balls to operate such a machine let alone in a real battle. This is the man who served his country during the Viet Nam war by joining the Texas Air reserve. They don't even spray crops when called to action.

Bush was AWOL on national guard

Actually, you got part of the story correct. After about a year, Bush ditched serving in the Texas National Guard. He simply ceased to show up for duty. Nothing was ever done about it and the history of this fact was buried for many years. However, the historical record is now well known and you can research and find the documents on the web. Just search for "AWOL" and "Texas" and "Bush" and "national guard" and you'll find many sites.
