ANARCHISTS!!!!!!! - Free on the 24th?

gary224 | 09.11.2002 14:47

On the 24th November would people be interested in going to a anti-capitalist demo.

On sunday 24th November, there is a CBI conference in Manchester. The CBI is a organisation which includes government ministers and heads of corporations.

Gordon Brown, BP Chief Executive and USA's treasury secretary will be there.

Globalise Resistance and 1 to 2 unions will have a small group to protest. As we all known they are waste of time, so i believe anarchist protesters should attend to send our anti-capitalist/anti-authoritarian message.

WHAT DO PEOPLE THINK?

We should really pull out all the stops for this one. I believe the MSF union and GR are demonstrating at this event on the 24th, and Friends of the Earth are having an early morning demo there on the 25th. The war mongering capitalists should be harrassed for the duration of the event but it makes sense to have the big demo on the 24th, Manchester is packed with people on Sundays so we should be out on the streets first and then hit the meeting. Anyone with any details of actions please post.

Oh yeah, Blair's also going to be there, as if you needed another incentive.

CBI Conference Manchester

1500 work-related deaths since labour came to power in 1997,including the death of Simon Jones and several major rail crashes. In the last 50 years only three companies have ever been convicted of manslaughter-all of these have been small companies. U/K bosses are getting away with murder! The CBI have continously opposed any change in the law on corporate manslaughter. Blair is bending the knee on this issue because of pressure from the business lobby.Join the protest against the "Corporate Killers" and the demo at the CBI conference in Manchester, which is to take place at the International Conference Centre, near to G Mex. Get train to Victoria or Piccadilly and the tram to G Mex or St. Peter`s Square.
