At the IWW regional Conference in Hull, it was decided that the IWW should call on Fellow Workers in other Unions to take whatever action they could to help the Firemen. There is much that should not be done without proper safety cover being available from the Fire Brigade. When there is a real life threatening crisis the striking Firemen would be almost bound to scab on themselves. To prevent that all Union members have a duty to maximise the impact of the strike in their own workplaces so it is rapidly settled.
