Bedford council are trying to evict Gypsy Travellers from their own land. They bought the 17-acre caravan park five years ago and since , up to 200 people have been living there, including 75 families with fifty children attending local schools.
The first round of evictions is scheduled to begin on Monday the 4th of November. The council has both lied and acted unlawfully in attempting to steal these people's land. (Further details on this will be posted soon.) A protest camp has been set up today to support the residents and help resist the eviction on Monday. Everyone is welcome to come down and join in.
