Shit how long have we gotta keep doing this before people learn: SECTION 60 IS NOT A CORDON, SECTION 60 IS A LAW RELATED TO STOP AND SEARCH POWERS. PEOPLE ARE DETAINED IN CORDONS TO PREVENT A BREACH OF THE PEACE!!!!!!

Yes we know. 'S60' is now used as a convenient catch all term for mass police cordons. As long as we all know what we're talking about , & more importantly just what legal power is being expressed, i don't see it as a particular problem. Just as a point of clarity when the 'S60 order' was first used at N30 ALL coppers refered to it explicitly as part of the police cordon process (as well as the stop & search), including the copper in charge on the ground chief inspector hatcher. Don't be so precious. We know who we are & we know what we're doing
