I'm not Boring and Straight

While agreeing that the outcome of behaviour in the city is responsible for the lack of partying in the square mile at least, I think that labelling these people "straights" and "boring" is fairly stereotypical. Should a person have to be intertested in your fluffed up and blinkered worldview to earn your respect?

People in the city have private lives too in which are not apparently obvious by their clothing, in the same way that protestors of various kinds have different opinions though they may all have dreads.

If everybody gave up keeping the economy running and started dancing all day the chances are high that you wouldn't be able to enjoy your disco parties before too long - because there'd be no electricity and you'd be too starved to dance.

Hey, boring and straight!

Hang on a minute Karel, what does anyone in the City of London do to generate electricity? Has anyone who works in the City ever ploughed a field, dug oil out of the ground, educated a child, made a pair of trainers in a sweat-shop? No, but they sure have taken their cut of the above useful activities, whilst sitting on their sweaty asses.

Economic activity is about creating value, as I'm sure plenty of City analysts would be able to tell you. To many outside the City, it seems that those within are disproportionately well rewarded for creating what amounts to little or no added value. This can give the unfortunate impression that the City is a huge parasite growing fat on the blood of those who have little enough to spare. Soz!
