UN Forecast: 4 Million Afghans Will Starve in the Coming 12 Months
The UN World Food Program believes that despite the fact that the situation in grain production in Afghanistan has improved, up to four million Afghans will be starving in the coming 12 months.
A representative of the UN World Food Program /WFP/, Alejandro Lopez-Chicheri, made this statement in Kabul.
Part of these Afghans live in the districts, where it will be difficult to deliver food after November, when mountain passes are blocked with snow, UN experts believe.
Currently the Program's representatives have already delivered over eight tons of food in four of such districts
