More planning and strategy meetings around anti-war NVDA:
Groups around the country are organising contingency plans for nonviolent civil disobedience if / when the war starts
Over 2500 people have now signed the Pledge of Resistance, committing themselves to taking part in (or supporting) acts of nonviolent civil disobedience in the event of war.


LONDON PLEDGE OF RESISTANCE CONTINGENCY-PLAN MEETING: 2 - 4 pm, Saturday 19th October. Conway Hall, Red Lion Square - nearest tube Holborn (NB clashes with anarchist bookfair -  http://www.anarchistbookfair.org)

This meeting is for all those - but particularly those in London - who want to help realise the following similar contingency plan for London: 'a mass nonviolent sit-down protest in central London in the immediate aftermath of a major attack on Iraq'.

Amongst the things that need sorting out are: when; where; legal support; mobilisation / spreading the word; police liaison; nonviolence trainings; prop-making; press work; legal observers etc... 11am - 4.30pm,
University College London, 140 Gower Street, London WC1

A day of practical workshops for those interested in taking part in or supporting nonviolent action against the war.
In the Cruiciform Building of University College London, north end of Gower Street Organised by ARROW and Voices in the Wilderness UK.

ADVANCE WARNING: WAR ZONE WHITEHALL!

A Nonviolent Die-in Against Another War with Iraq
2nd December 2002

Let's bring the reality of human suffering to Tony Blair's doorstep, with bandaged wounded, shrouded dead, (fake) rubble - hundreds of people blocking Whitehall angrily but peacefully.

There'll be prop-making sessions, nonviolence preperation workshops and an anti-war teach-in.

We'll have accommodation from Saturday onward, details to be arranged. Please put this date in your diary and organise a group to come and take part in the die-in.
