A few events in London around Media Democracy Day, or Media Action Day as others call it - all welcome...

Early morning 'Media Circus' at this major corporate media company on October 18th - bring cameras, videos, audio kit and your notebook and ask the corporate media workers about the media machine - open invitation also to all media who support issues of media democracy...

The Anarchist Bookfair ( http://www.anarchistbookfair.org) on Saturday 19th October will come under the banner of Media Democracy Day as a community media and information event.
Film screenings will run most of the day and two sessions organised by Indymedia will be dedicated to media issues
(11am- 1pm) - Independent Media Laboratory: a chance to catch up with the uk's independent and alternative media groups and discuss strategies for the future + Mainstream Media On Trial: debate on the UK's mainstream media and the issues central to Media Democracy Day, including a discussion of how corporate media repeatedly fails to accurately cover large scale protests + Looking ahead to Media D Day 2003 and beyond to Geneva, December 2003 and the UN World Summit on Information Society.

Launch of the European Newsreal Project which will be Screened for the first time in the North on the 22nd of October. These are UNCENSORED films made by people who do their research and don't pretend to be "impartial". It's a very new, fresh and hands on approach to media.
