Thousands of people across the United States protested this weekend (Oct 6-7) against a possible war with Iraq.

From major cities to small towns, thousands of people all over the U.S. voiced their opposition to war plans with Iraq. Although relatively small in comparison to recent anti-war demonstrations in London and Italy, the total number of people who participated in protests this weekend is amazing for this country and quite rare. To name a few of the major gatherings: New York 60,000; Los Angeles 40,000; San Francisco 20,000; Seattle 10,000 people; Portland 10,000. Dozens of other cities had more than 1,000 protesters each, as well as many towns that gathered hundreds of people. This is all to show that a growing number of Americans will not support Bush's war in Iraq. We are marching with you England! Thanks to everyone who is taking a stand against this war.
