SCAR (South Coast Against Road building) Interview.
SCAR was originally formed in April 1994 to fight the threat from the then Department of Transport's (DoT) plan for a 230 mile South Coast Superhighway, taking in the A259, A27, M27, A31 and A35. Put forward as a series of local bypasses, the schemes were actually part of a much larger strategic route.
SCAR is now becoming increasingly concerned that this original plan is being dusted off with a new starting point, Ramsgate on the North Kent coast
Road Alert / Pirate TV took a trip down to Worthing (East Sussex, UK) to find out more..
