Genetic Tyranny

21.09.2002 15:17

As long ago as 2000, a BBC programme featuring Roger Bate's 'opinion' to dispel the 'myths' of organic farming, used Africa in the argument showing an ariel view of refugees escaping geoncide in Rwanda, to imply natural farming techniques couldn't feed the expanding population, and GM is the only 'humanitarian' solution. No-one bought that argument, so now they are exploiting famine instead.

Scientists have bred a herd of mad cows whose genes have been 'knocked-out' and replaced with human proteins, the result is virtually the same as human breast milk. This exciting new bovine product will be on our shelves in a year, with added serum.

The measles gene has been inserted into lettuce and rice by Australian scientists, to provide an alternative to traditional vaccinations for the virus. They have also successfully created measles-modified tobacco, so you can have a fag and jab simultaneously.

Again, Africa is the guinea-pig for these 'innovations'-"modified foodstuffs could be used to eradicate disease in the Third World." (After they introduced AIDS?) If you think that the bio-tech industry will use this bizarre technology to "save lives" you still believe governments care for the people, before profit. A dangerous delusion in the 21st Century.
