OSCE meeting in Porto - Portugal

Toni | 18.09.2002 20:30

OSCE has now a portuguese chairmanship. It will end by December, when Porto receives the final meeting. The agenda, as you might guess, is "Terrorism" and "Security"

Some of us decided that it was time for the powefull to stop seeing Portugal as the perfect place to meet. It is also time for all the crazyness that comes with the "anti.terrorism" bullshit to come to a stop. We feel that we must be free, we feel that it is important to think and to say what one thinks. Under a consensual alibi, the ones in charge are trying to take from us the feww freedom rights that stll remain.

The OSCE meets in Porto on the 4th and 5th of December. In order to organize an welcoming comitee for all the 65 foreign affairs miniters, we decided to meet and discuss somethings. Here is what was decided at this first meeting:

First of all, we decided to change the organization's name to Organization for the Security of Capital and the Enterprises (OSCE).

The general idea was that of trying to create an organization that should be as wide as possible, as long as it compromises with the principles of anti-capitalism (as an image towards the outside) and with the horizontal ways of internal organization a decision making.

We opened a time for thinknig (and proposing) about the name of the organization and the text for a common public document. For that and all other matters related with organizing, we created a mailing list:  forumsocialp@yahoogroups.com
Please note that everybody can subscribe to this list. So leave all the matters that you don't want the secret police to know about for other ways of communicating.

Appart from all the activities that may be developed in common, there will be a space for other activities. On all of these, one must becarefull enough as to say that some action does not imply the rest of the organization necessarly.

Next meeting will be next saturday, 21/09/2002, in Rua do Bonjardim, 998, Porto. The meeting willbegin at 17.00 pm.

Please lets us know of anyone that might be interested in come to Portugal in December (or sooner, to help with things). We trying to make this a big event here and so we would need everybody to come and protest for a better world

Love, Rage, and Anti-capitalism
